Red Eyed Sunflower

Abundant, hairy, ovate basal leaves with an upright reddish colored stem sprouting sparse opposite leaves topped with multiple flower heads. Flowers are yellow petaled, with a purplish red center and about 2" across. Small seeds that birds love form in the center of the spent flower heads just like their larger annual cousins.
