What Spring has Sprung

IMG_7994We have been working hard getting our parent plant beds ready for this spring.  This is what our sun-drenched plant beds looked like three weeks ago.  Annual weeds like spurge, henbit, rabbit ears, and viney vetch, you get the picture.  My own yard is one thing, but this is about a quarter of an acre.IMG_8049 But thanks to some sunny weather and  some stalwart helpers, the beds are getting in shape.  Adding granite sand and compost to gradually raise the bed and improve drainage.  Below, Jeff is inspecting the mostly finished beds.  We have added species and additional plants.  Can’t wait to see it in a month.
